Website Creation

Updated: Jun 16, 2021

There are many different ways to build and get started with website creation. However before getting to those you would need to know a few things.

  • Why do you want to create a website

  • What is the mission or goal of your website

  • What will your website be named

  • What kind of content will be shown

  • Who will be your targeted audience

Whats your goal?

Not knowing where to start can be extremely frustrating, especially if you know you have something great to offer. If you know why you want to create this website and have a goal, you are starting off better than most. It’s always good to solidify your goal as this can help you stay on task with content creation, marketing, etc.

If your website is a blog, your goal may be to find other individuals who may be interested in reading and sharing ideas. If your website is focused on selling products, your goal may be to promote and increase your business. Every website is different and you need to make sure that you communicate to your visitors what your website hopes to accomplish. Without a goal, you can’t go any further with website creation if you want it to succeed.

Not just any name

What are you planning to name your website? This is a relatively simple step but can be difficult choosing the right name. You want your name to be creative, inspiring, informative, or all of the above. Given that this will be the name most people will stick with, you want to take your time and choose a name that you are happy with.

You will also need a domain name. You can search for available domain names or create one that you want for website. Something that sounds good is just as important as making sure your visitors will remember what it is. So getting a domain name that matches your website is optimal.

Content Creation

Content is what can make or break your chance of success. A beautiful design can only do so much if you can’t keep your visitors coming back to your website. Now you can completely hire someone to create your website and provide the content. However, it is best if you do it yourself to learn how to sustain it on your own. When it comes to the design, you can always use a provided template or start from scratch if you have an eye for design. Web design is a great skill set to learn. Knowing where your content will fit best is another major key to growing the list of people who visit your site and making sure they keep coming back.

If you consider yourself a great writer this may come easier to you. If not, then you may spend a considerable amount of time crafting the content. You can hire a professional if you need assistance with content promotion, writing, selling, or the many other things that go along with handling the content.

Your audience

Creating a great website is one thing. Getting people to come and view your website is another. Once you get to the marketing step, you realize how difficult this may be depending on your current networks.

  • What networks do you currently have?

  • Would those individuals be interested in your content?

  • How will you increase traffic to your website?

These are all questions you would want to know or quickly figure out to maximize your website potential.

Building a website comes with challenges but once you start to discover how the website works and it’s functions, it will be a lot easier to continue with website creation. There are many different platforms you can build your website with. Start looking to see which one can maximize what you hope to accomplish with yours!
